Is Digital Communication Good Or Bad? Essay Topics and Digital Communication

Is Digital Communication Good Or Bad? Essay Topics and Digital CommunicationIs digital communication good or bad? Some believe that since the internet is a ubiquitous resource, it can do anything and everything, which include subject matter of essays. But, at the same time, we must admit that essay writing must still be limited by the written skills of the writer. If a student can't write a thesis statement properly, he or she cannot actually write the whole paper. Still, we can all agree that essay writing is not really much of a task when compared to the other assignments, since essay topics are more flexible. However, there is also the concern that electronic communication as essay topics may cause some 'lack of interest' in the reader. Digital communication is able to give us instant feedback about a person's attitude and thoughts on any topic. Consequently, a student who would be asked to write on a subject will be forced to write in a very superficial manner. In fact, most student s have problems with writing on a very popular subject such as science or history since they already know the common areas covered by that subject. Hence, many students will choose not to use their 'common knowledge' as the basis for writing. This makes them unable to properly express what they really think or feel about a certain subject. Moreover, they can also 'read' the reader through their written work. Many students are extremely familiar with what is written by 'popular' writers and have 'tagged' them as someone they've read or heard of because of their common knowledge. In this way, they tend to not express their true thoughts about the same topic they have read about. This may seem like a way to get people to agree with your views but the truth is that some subjects such as history and science will remain 'too deep' to express through the 'wordy' style of writing. For instance, the topics covered by 'popular' history will be too much of the current state of affairs. And, if y ou don't believe me, try writing an essay on a subject you've never even been to.Since 'common sense' is also covered by the popular media, the student can easily try reading through their magazine for two or three days before beginning to write the essay. We can also compare this kind of writing with writing a history essay about a European history or European region. As long as the student has knowledge of those subjects, he or she can probably get the idea and will be able to effectively express himself or herself.Another issue that some critics are worried about is that since digital communication has so many ways to reach the audience, it is not really possible to control the message of the writer. The student may unknowingly 'possess' the mindset of the writer, thus affecting the overall quality of the work.
